Another beautifully written and deeply resonant piece; thank you for sharing. I, too, have been using quarantine to embark upon a journey of childlike wonder and joyous discovery into undiscovered or long-forgotten avenues, while trying to increasingly detach myself from corporate means of making a living. I have been thinking about starting a newsletter of my own, and this is inspiring...

As one who has been aching for international travel — and had intended to be living abroad this year, departing April 13, so, yeah — I also really appreciate this reminder that we can still experience art and culture and people in other places through digital means.

So as someone who took a long career break to start a family and is now hoping to make it as a writer, I see you having a reader-supported newsletter as an anchor gig a HUGE success! Algorithm and editors and advertisers aside, these are real people who are showing up because they love your writing.
