Another 🔥🔥🔥 piece. Thank you. I’m here for the rants but also tv picks would be great. I am kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel in that department.
"Can we talk about industrial agriculture practices in a way that prioritizes planet and worker without suggesting anyone is “bad” for how they eat?"
Such a powerful question. In a society that moralizes food so much ("Oh, are you being 'good'?" / "Oh, I'm eating so 'bad' today!") we're all very sensitive to discussions around food because we believe what we eat *IS* us, somehow. I believe we can investigate the systems at play without making it personal in this way, but it seems really difficult.
I would be more than happy to read a piece on your favourite shows, but having just discovered there was a Kitchen Confidential SITCOM!!! staring Bradley Cooper in the mid 2000s I would love to read your thoughts on that.
Alicia, I really appreciate and admire how incisively you've cut through the bullshit and framed the questions that need to be asked. I'm going to try to share this broadly in the hopes of advancing the conversation beyond the self-congratulatory plane it so often rests on. Bravo.
On ‘Good’ Food
This article is so thoughtful and well-articulated that it inspired me to become a paid subscriber.
Yes, we do deserve better. Thanks for sharing your thoughts so generously.

"Would anyone want me to write about all of my favorite TV shows at some point after this week’s rant to try to even the scales?"
NO! I am HERE for the rants! :) I hope you're feeling better and better. (Though hearing about your favorites would be fun.)

A really good read as usual.
